Lifetime Guarantee · Potomac Standard

Built to last.
Guaranteed.

Potomac Standard hardware is machined from solid metals and finished by hand in South Florida. These materials and methods are chosen specifically because they create hardware that performs for decades, not years.

01

Our Commitment

Every Potomac Standard product is backed by a lifetime guarantee against defects in materials or workmanship under normal residential use.

If a component fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace the affected part. No time limit. No registration required. No bureaucracy.

This guarantee exists because the products themselves are designed for permanence — solid metal construction, precise machining, and hand-finishing rather than thin stamped or plated materials that degrade.

02

Why We Can Offer This

The guarantee is not a marketing commitment — it is a consequence of how the hardware is made. Four qualities of the manufacturing process make it possible.

01 Solid Metal Construction

Parts are CNC-machined from solid stainless steel billet — not stamped sheet, not hollow castings, not plated zinc alloy.

02 Hand Finishing

Each component receives 20–30 minutes of individual finishing work using techniques borrowed from Swiss watch manufacturing.

03 Inherent Durability

Stainless steel and titanium resist corrosion, peeling, and coating failure that are endemic in plated or painted hardware.

04 Substantial Weight

Potomac Standard components are 6 to 20× heavier than typical alternatives — a direct measure of material presence and long-term integrity.

Coverage

Covered Defects in materials or workmanship that affect structural integrity or normal operation under residential use.
Remedy Repair or replacement of the affected component, at our discretion. No charge to you.
Duration Lifetime of the original installation. No expiry date, no registration required.
Not Covered Improper installation, misuse, modification, or commercial environments outside normal residential use.
Natural Aging Subtle finish changes or patina that develop from handling over time are considered normal — not a defect.
On Aging & Patina

"Well-made hardware should age.
That is not a failure — it is evidence of the material."

Over time, solid metal develops subtle character from touch and use. These changes are a natural result of working with real materials rather than surface coatings, and they are among the most honest qualities a piece of hardware can have.
